Khalistan banners come up outside Vidhan Sabha complex in Himachal's Dharamsala

Dharamsala, May 8

Shocking the security agencies, banners of Khalistan were found hanging on the main gate of Vidhan Sabha Complex at Tapovan in Dharamsala today morning. Besides the banners, Khalistan was written with green paint on wall adjoining the main gate of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha.

SP Kangra Khushal Sharma said it seemed that some miscreants committed the act late in the night. A case has been registered and investigation is going on, he said.

Sources said there are no CCTV cameras installed in the outer periphery of Vidhan Sabha complex. Besides there were no guards in outer periphery, which helped the culprits in committing the act.

The SP said he had earlier written to Vidhan Sabha secretariat to get CCTV cameras installed in outer periphery of complex but it has not been done as yet. “Now we are making provisions to install CCTV cameras in the complex using Smart City funds,” he added.

Dharamsala SDM Shilpi Bekta said a case has been filed and the Speaker and other officials have been informed about it.

Dharamsala MLA Vishal Nehria said this is a cowardly act and if the Khalistanis have guts, they should come in the light of day and do such acts.
