Hoshiarpur, July 18
The police remand of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been extended for three more days.
Bishnoi, the mastermind in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, was brought on transit remand from Delhi by the Punjab Police after the singer’s murder. He was later brought to Hoshiarpur by the police on transit remand and the court had sent him to seven-day police custody.
This morning, after Bishnoi’s seven-day police remand ended, he was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Gursher Singh amid tight security. The court extended Bishnoi’s police remand by three days.
The gangster’s lawyer, Pankaj Bedi, said the Hoshiarpur police had sought a seven-day remand from the court to test Bishnoi’s voice.
Notably, Bishnoi was brought for questioning in a case of shooting outside the house of a liquor businessman of Hoshiarpur in 2019. In this case, on the statement of one Malkit Singh Gunman, the Model Town police had registered a case against unidentified accused.
