Anandpur Sahib MP and former Union Minister Manish Tewari on Wednesday called on Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and urged him to bring Balachaur on the rail map of the country and upgrade the Ropar station.
Tewari said a rail link was possible from Garhshankar to Anandpur Sahib, which had already been surveyed by the Railways. Emphasising the need to improve the condition of the Ropar railway station, Tewari said: “The prestigious IIT is located here where students come to study from across the country. But at present, there is only one platform at the station due to which the passengers have to face a lot of problems.”
