Several districts in Bihar are facing a flood-like situation as most rivers, including the Ganga, are flowing above danger marks following heavy rainfall in Nepal and neighbouring Jharkhand, officials said on Friday.

The Karnataka government has designated Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in Bengaluru as the nodal centre for collecting DNA samples from first-degree relatives of state residents who went missing in the flash floods that struck Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region, officials said.

An 11-member NDRF technical team has been sent to Nepal to help rescuers find live victims who could be trapped at multiple locations, including a hydropower project hit by the devastating flash floods last week, officials said on Friday.

Two hundred seventy-five Indians remained missing while 169 others were rescued following the devastating flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday.
