Sangrur, September 30
Farmers today protested against the visit of president of BJP’s Minority Morcha to Malerkotla and raised slogans against them. The protesters pushed cops aside to reach at the front of a local BJP leader’s house, where some locals had converged to have tea with a BJP leader.
“Jamal Siddiqui, who is the national president of the Minority Morcha of the BJP, had come to the city to visit a local idgah. I had made arrangements of tea for him at my house. But some locals misinformed farmers about a meeting at my house. Farmers protested in front of my residence for around three hours but they lifted their protest after I clarified that there was no meeting at my house,” said Aman Thapar, BJP Malerkotla president. — TNS
