Man held with Rs 20L drug money

Amritsar, July 30

The Amritsar (Rural) police have recovered Rs 20 lakh drug money and ammunition from a man identified as Mohabatjeet Singh of Nath Di Khui village on Mehta Road.

Swapan Sharma, SSP (Rural) said Inspector Lovpreet Singh succeeded in nabbing a wanted drug peddler Mohabatjeet Singh. The police seized Rs 20 lakh drug money, a double barrel 12 bore rifle, six cartridges and an SUV from him. The police said he was wanted in five cases under the NDPS Act, including a recent FIR registered on June 24. During probe, Mohabatjeet confessed that in the last four years, he was involved in the trade of drugs and arms along with two other accomplices — Gurjeet Singh, alias Gora, and Kuljeet Singh, alias Shiva. — TNS
