The growth of the manufacturing sector is crucial to country’s development and with Centre’s initiatives for the industrial sector, the GDP has reached over 8 per cnt even during the pandemic, said Union Minister for Steel RCP Singh while interacting with mediapersons at the National Institute of Secondary Steel Technology (NISST), Mandi Gobindgarh, today.

He was here to interact with industrialists of Asia’s biggest steel town and redress the problems being faced by the industry.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-dependence) initiative was aimed at growth of the industry and manufacturing sector. He said Mandi Gobindgarh would be developed as an industrial hub by setting up big industrial units so that more employment was generated for the state youth. — OC
