Chandigarh, June 29
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today said the guarantee given by the Aam Aadmi Party to give Rs 1,000 per month to all women over 18 years of age would be fulfilled soon.
The CM made this statement during his speech while concluding the debate on Budget proposals for 2022-23. He said his government was trying to find resources for implementation of this guarantee as soon as possible. “Unlike previous governments, which only sent files for approval to regularise jobs of contractual employees but advertised that they have done it, we will fulfil our commitment to the women of the state this year,” he said.
Won’t renege on our promise

Concluding the discussion on the Budget proposals for 2022-23, Mann said a pro-people budget has been prepared by Finance Minister Harpal Cheema after due consultation with the people.
“The Opposition has been caught in a peculiar situation as they have been jostling hard to find any shortcoming in such a progressive Budget. The people of Punjab have given massive mandate to their team, which will accomplish the Herculean task that have not even been touched during the last 75 years,” he said.
The Chief Minister bemoaned that the previous government have jeopardised the government education and health sectors to give open space to private players for expanding their business. However, he said this trend would be reversed in the coming years by his government. Mann said those who have ruined the government schools and hospitals have been shown the door by the people.
Training his guns at Opposition for their slanderous propaganda on the choice of Rajya Sabha members from state by the AAP, the Chief Minister reminded the members of Opposition that none of the Rajya Sabha member sent from the state has been rejected by the people. He said this was contrary to earlier practice when the leaders who were trounced by the people in elections were sent to Upper House of Parliament as ‘political refugees’.
