Pathankot, December 3

Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi today declared that a medical college and hospital would be established in Pathankot soon. He was addressing a gathering at the Bhoa Assembly seat which is represented by Congress MLA Joginder Pal.

On August 15, 2017, Capt Amarinder Singh made a similar announcement during his Independence-Day speech. Four years down the line, not a single brick has been laid. Observers say the Pathankot project might not see the light of the day as just a few weeks are left before the model code of conduct comes into force. “Getting funds sanctioned and obtaining clearances and permissions from the Medical Council of India are a long and cumbersome process,” said a leader.

The Chief Minister announced a new administrative block for Bhoa, besides the construction of a sports stadium at Bani Lodhi village. He dedicated 66 KV Power Station at Laahdi Mahanta village. All these places fall in the Bhoa Assembly segment, widely perceived to be the most backward area of Punjab.
