Moga, July 9
A 32-year-old man allegedly attacked his wife, son and in-laws with a sharp-edged weapon and later died by suicide at Khosa Pando village in Moga on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Gurmukh Singh.
As per information, Gurmukh’s wife had left him a few days ago following a dispute and went to her parental house at Tatariewala village. He reportedly tried to persuade her to return, but she did not listen to him.
In the wee hours on Saturday, he went to his in-laws’ house and allegedly attacked his wife and her family members. Those injured include his father-in-law Sarwan Singh, mother-in-law Paramjit Kaur, his wife Gurmeet Kaur, his son Mehakpreet Singh and Harpreet Kaur. The critically injured were rushed to the district hospital from where they were referred to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital in Faridkot.
After attacking his in-laws, Gurmukh went back to his house and died by suicide. The police have sent the body for the post-mortem.
