Moga: Sonu Sood’s sister joins Congress

Moga, January 10

Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood’s sister Malvika Sachar Sood on Monday joined the Congress in the presence of PCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu and Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi at Moga on Monday.

Local Congress MLA Dr Harjot Kamal was not present on the occasion, giving indications of a rebellion. However, former minister Dr Malti Thapar, former MLA Vijay Sathi, Dharamkot MLA Kaka Sukhjit Singh Lohgarh and many other party leaders were present during the joining. The district president of the party Kamaljit Brar and his father MLA Darshan Singh Brar were also not present at event.

Sidhu praised Sonu Sood for his works and welcomed his sister in the party fold.

Both Sidhu and Channi said “Malvika will soon get a good assignment in the party”.

In a reply to a question, Sonu Sood said Malvika’s joining the Congress was her individual decision. It was her wish to join the party.

“I will campaign for my sister,” he said. However, Sonu said he had no affiliation with any political party. Malvika has just begun her political career, my best wishes are with her, he added.

Show of strength by Moga legislator
