Muktsar: Court accepts blood money

Muktsar: The family of Balwinder Singh from Mallan village, who was facing execution in Saudi Arabia for killing a man in 2013, said the court on Monday accepted the Rs 2 crore blood money. Notably, the family had gathered around Rs 2.28 crore from donations to save the life of Balwinder. The family is planning to give remaining Rs 28 lakh to the PGI or use it to assist other Punjabis. Man booked for wife’s murder

Abohar: An injured woman was pulled out of a reservoir on Monday morning in Sriganganagar. Locals rushed the victim to the hospital where she succumbed. Investigating officer Kartar Singh said a case has been registered against her husband Puran Ram (47) for killing Kamlesh Rani. OC

Woman strangulated in Moga

Moga: A 65-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated by unknown persons at Jhandeana Sharki village. The deceased has been identified as Shinder Kaur. She was residing alone in the house as her family was living in Canada for the past over a decade. The police have registered case under Section 302 of the IPC.
