PPCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu, Punjab Congress MLAs and Punjab Youth Congress president Barinder Dhillon on Monday protested outside the Punjab Raj Bhawan here against the Lakhimpur Kheri violence in UP.
They were demanding the arrest of Union minister’s son for the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.
They also protested against the statement by Haryana CM ML Khattar and the “illegal arrest” of Congress general secretary Priyanka Vadra in UP.
Meanwhile, Punjab CM Charanjit Channi will visit the violence-hit Lakhimpur Kheri in UP to meet the affected families.
The Punjab government has written to the UP Additional Chief Secretary, seeking permission for Punjab CM to visit the families of the victims.
Eight people, including four farmers, had died in violence in the UP district on Sunday.
