Chandigarh, September 30
Days after the deadlock between Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu and the party leadership over the appointments of the DGP and AG, besides those of “tainted” ministers, the cricketer-turned politician showed first signs of thaw in the strained relations.
Sidhu will meet the Chief Minister in Chandigarh at 3 pm.
The meeting is said to have been arranged after a number of MLAs called up both Sidhu and the Chief Minister to find an amicable solution.
Navjot Singh Sidhu tweeted: “Chief Minister has invited me for talks hellip; will reciprocate by reaching Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh at 3:00 PM today, he is welcome for any discussions !”

Sources said with the backdrop of the development related to Capt Anarinder Singh meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah and National security advisor Ajit Doval, Sidhu gesture towards Channi can be understood.
“What transpires in the meeting between the two, only time will tell, but there could be changes in the top posts as desired by Sidhu. The action plan in sacrilege case and other election promises would also be discussed,” said a senior leader.
