A Moga youth was deserted by his NRI wife after duping him of Rs 18.50 lakh, the police officials said here today. A case under Sections 420 and 120B of the IPC has been registered against NRI Rajwinder Kaur Toor, her father Gurpreet Singh and mother Har Parkash Kaur, all natives of Khosa Kotla.
Hardeep Singh of Rauli village reportedly spent Rs 18.50 lakh on sending his wife Rajwinder to Canada on study visa. Rajwinder promised that after reaching Canada, she would call him there. When Hardeep reached Canada, Rajwinder came to the airport and demanded Rs 8 lakh. As he could not give the money, she left him there. —
