Chandigarh, October 25
Punjab has administrated more than 2.16 crore Covid vaccine doses to date — 1.56 crore people with the first dose and 59.61 lakh with both doses.
Deputy Chief Minister OP Soni, who also holds the charge of the Health and Family Welfare, said this here today. “The vaccination is being done vigorously throughout the state and special camps are being organised to jab workers at their workplace,” he said. On the active case scenario, he said as of now Covid-19 was almost under control with only 229 active cases. Three districts — SBS Nagar, Muktsar and Mansa — have only one case, while nine others have active cases in single digit — Gurdaspur (5), Pathankot (9), Kapurthala (7), Sangrur (3), Ferozepur (7), Fatehgarh Sahib (3), Moga (9), Tarn Taran (7) and Barnala (8) — till Sunday.
“Though the positivity rate is declining, we cannot lower the guard even if a single active case exists in the state or the surrounding areas. So, this festive season must be celebrated with extreme caution. Spread happiness, festivity, but not virus. Observe full caution and adhere to Covid safety protocol,” Soni added.
