Patiala, May 1
The Patiala police on Sunday claimed to have arrested the mastermind of violence outside Kali Mata temple.
The main accused, identified as Barjinder Singh Parwana, a resident of Rajpura in the district, was allegedly involved in a clash over an anti-Khalistan march here on Friday.
Parwana allegedly led a mob of agitators from near Khanda Chowk to outside Kali Mata temple and also ensured that the police barricades were uprooted at more than two places to make way for the agitators.
Earlier, hours after the Friday clash, the police had arrested Harish Singla, the “working president” of a group called “Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray)” on charges of taking out the procession without permission and instigating violence.
