Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party president K. Pawan Kalyan launched the party’s youth wing, Jai Kottu, in virtual mode, during his 55th birthday celebrations at Pithapuram in Kakinada district on Wednesday.
Led by JSP Political Affairs Committee chairman Nadendla Manohar, supporters of Mr. Pawan Kalyan and the party activists took out a bike rally from Chitrada to Pithapuram.
Later, Mr. Manohar unveiled Jai Kottu’s logo and a song that celebrates the role and contribution of the youth in the journey of the party since its inception.
“The youth are the fuel and strength of the Jana Sena party. The youth and women will be given priority in the local body elections and responsibilities in the affairs of the party,” Mr. Manohar said while addressing the gathering.
Mr. Manohar said nearly 30,000 youth have evinced interest in working closely with the party without expecting anything in return during the recent drive to identify candidates for various roles and responsibilities.
“The youth have deciphered the ideology of Mr. Pawan Kalyan, and they are the source of inspiration for waging battles against many challenges and social causes during the past decade” he said.
Mr. Manohar and Mr. Pawan Kalyan consoled the family members of a youth, Rolla Prem Kumar, who was electrocuted while erecting a flexi banner at Bendamuru Lanka near Amalapuram on Wednesday. Mr. Manohar handed over a cheque of ₹5 lakh ex gratia to the family of Prem Kumar.
