Protest outside minister’s residence

Amritsar, February 11

Demanding criminal proceedings against the culprits involved in misappropriation of 328 saroops of the Guru Granth Sahib from the possession of the SGPC, Baldev Singh Wadala, a former Hazoori Raagi of the Golden Temple, and his supporters gheraoed the residence of Cabinet minister OP Soni here today.

Though Soni was in Chandigarh, the protesters conducted prayers for a few hours outside Soni’s residence.

Wadala resented the state government’s “indifferent” attitude towards protests that continued for over 100 days here over the missing saroops.

“Our purpose of gheraoing residences of Cabinet ministers is to sensitise them about the issue of misappropriation of saroops and the government’s failure to initiate action in the matter,” he said. — TNS
