Punjab assembly polls: Capt Amarinder Singh announces alliance with BJP

Capt Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress announced an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party for the 2022 assembly elections in Punjab.

“Met union minister amp; @BJP4India incharge for Punjab, Shri @gssjodhpur in New Delhi today to chalk out future course of action ahead of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections. We have formally announced a seat adjustment with the BJP for the 2022 Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections,” former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh said in a tweet.

Gajendra Shekhawat, BJP’s Punjab in charge whom Capt Amarinder Singh met in Delhi, also confirmed the alliance.

“We will contest Punjab assembly polls in alliance with Amarinder Singh’s party,” PTI quoted him as having said.
