Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann approves new milling policy for Kharif marketing beginning October

Chandigarh, July 28

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday announced that the Council of Ministers have approved the new milling policy for the Kharif Marketing season that begins in October.

He said that the new policy would put an end to the “phoos mafia”, where the poor were not allowed to lift the paddy husk from mandis.

He said: “In wake of the 400th year of celebration of Guru Teg Bagadur, sentences of several prisoners will be waived off.”

The CM said, “We will regularise the contractual employees soon. The legal hurdles will be cleared at the earliest.”

He said there will be age relaxation for the contractual employees. He also said that there was no controversy over appointment of AG Vinod Ghai.
