Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Wednesday denied that there was a breach in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security in Punjab.
His statement comes after MHA asked the state to fix responsibility after PM Modi’s Punjab rally was cancelled.
He said that it was last minute decision of the PM to travel by road from Bathinda to Ferozpur.
Initially, he was to travel by air, but the travel plan changed. Channi said the BJP was blaming the Punjab government for political reasons.
Meanwhile, BJP Chief JP Nadda alleged, “Punjab CM Channi refused to get on phone to address matter, state police was instructed to prevent people from attending PM’s rally.”
