Punjab to be made epicentre of shooting: Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer

Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer today said Punjab would be made the epicentre of shooting. On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, an amount of Rs 6 crore has been released for the transformation of shooting ranges in the state.

The Sports Minister came to take stock of the facilities at the Phase 6 shooting range. He visited the 10m indoor air-conditioned range apart from the 25m and 50m ranges. He emphasised on improving the infrastructure at the range so as to bring it in tune with the changing times.

The shooters shared their experiences and apprised the minister of all aspects. The Minister said the Chief Minister had personally met the shooters and it was on his instructions that the above said amount was released.

The Minister directed the sports officers to display the pictures of eminent shooters inside the range so as to make sure that the budding shooters can derive inspiration from them.

Director Sports Rajesh Dhiman, prominent shooters Arjun Babuta, Anjum Moudgil, District Sports Officer Gurdeep Kaur, shooting coach Supreet Dhaliwal and Ankush Bhardwaj were among other present on the occasion.
