The Rai Sikh Bhawan set up here at a cost of crores of rupees a decade ago has almost crumbled without even being put to any use causing loss to the state exchequer.
The building was constructed for the welfare of the Rai Sikh community, but was neither utilised during the last decade nor handed over to the “Biradari”.
Over and above, in the absence of any mechanism for its maintenance, upkeep and security, this building has become an “abode” for drug addicts and bootleggers, who have been using it as a safe haven. Used injections are dumped and traces of ‘chitta’ are visible too.
