Chandigarh, December 9
The AAP expressed happiness on the victory of the farmers’ movement. The party said the victory had proved that dictatorship had no place in a democracy.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters, MP Bhagwant Mann said the farmers and labourers sitting on a dharna had not only won the war against the Modi government but also won the hearts of the people of Punjab and the entire country. He said the farmers sacrificed their lives but never bowed before the Centre. “Punjab will always remember the sacrifices of these farmers and the movement will be written in golden letters in history. The coming generations of the country will take inspiration from the winning spirit of these farmers and will always defeat the dictatorship behaviour of any government in a democratic way,” he said.
Criticising the central government, Mann said the BJP and Prime Minister Modi were working for the corporates. Fearing defeat in the elections, the BJP decided to repeal the three laws, he said. — TNS
