Ropar leader in soup over foul language

Ropar, December 19

Congress leader and Ropar Improvement Trust chairman Sukhwinder Singh Whiskey has run into trouble with a video clip purportedly showing him using abusive language while holding a picture of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib going viral.

The incident happened after Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi laid the foundation stone of a bridge over the Haripur Nullah, near Purkhali village, here yesterday. Takth Jathedar Giani Raghubir Singh has demanded strict legal as well as disciplinary action from the Chief Minister against the Congress leader.

According to information, after Channi left the venue yesterday, local Congress leaders, holding a gurdwara picture, posed for a photograph. In the video clip, Whiskey is purportedly heard using foul language.

Giani Raghubir Singh asked the CM to register a case under Section 295 A of IPC against the Congress leader and remove him from all posts. Whisky claimed he had utmost regard for Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and that it was a slip of tongue aimed at a fellow party man who had pushed him while getting the picture clicked. — TNS
