Rs 85 cr released for empanelled hospitals under Ayushman plan

On the direction of Chief Minister, Punjab, the Finance Department has released Rs 85 crore under Ayushman Bharat-Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana.

A press release issued by the government mentioned that of total outstanding Rs 216 crore, the Department of Health amp; Family Welfare, Punjab, has released Rs 85 crore to 920 government and private empanelled hospitals, including PGIMER, Chandigarh and GMCH, 32, Chandigarh, among others on Saturday. With this, 60 per cent of the dues of government hospitals have been cleared. The remaining dues of all hospitals will be cleared shortly, it said.

The Finance Department, while releasing this amount, has also advised that in case any irregularity is noticed regarding termination of the earlier insurance contract, then appropriate action against responsible persons would be taken by the Administrative Department. Finance Department also directed that for the claims that have already been issued, audit shall be conducted by the internal audit wing of the Finance Department, which will include claims of all private hospitals.
