SAD leader booked for assault
Muktsar: The police have booked Akali leader Dinesh Garg Tony, his brother Ashu, his wife Amita and two others for allegedly thrashing a resident on Sunday. Mangal Sain told the police that Gurjeet Singh and his son thrashed him. Later, Tony, along with his brother and wife tried to kill him, he claimed. A case under various sections of the IPC and the Arms Act has been registered against the suspects. TNS
3 women on Surrogacy Board
Chandigarh: CM Bhagwant Mann on Monday nominated three women MLAs as ex-officio members of State Assisted Reproductive Technology and Surrogacy Board. A spokesperson said, “The CM has nominated Dr Amandeep Kaur Arora (MLA, Moga), Dr Jeevan Jyot Kaur (MLA, Amritsar East) and Neena Mittal (MLA, Rajpura) as ex-officio members of the board.” TNS
Training programme for youth
Chandigarh: The Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) has launched “Mission Sunheri Shuruat” to provide soft skill training to the youth. Secretary (Employment Generation and Training) Kumar Rahul said they aim to train at least 1,500 candidates in the first phase. TNS
