SGPC along with Indian World Forum and Indian govt commences transfer of distressed Afghan minorities

Chandigarh, June 30

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Amritsar, has organised and is facilitating the transfer of Afghan Hindus and Sikhs from the distressed Islamic nation to India in coordination with the Indian World Forum and the Indian government.

A special flight from Kabul to Delhi will be arranged at 11.30am on Thursday.

Eleven Afghan Sikhs will be arriving at Delhi including Raqbir Singh, who was injured during the attack on June 18 at Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Kabul.

The ashes of Late Swinder Singh who was killed during the attack will arrive along with the group.

The SGPC is assisting them with airfare and will also be providing financial aid to those seeking rehabilitation in the country.

Officials of the SGPC and Afghan Hindu and Sikh community leaders will be present at the airport to facilitate them.

After their arrival, the entire group will leave for Gurdwara Sri Guru Arjan Dev in New Delhi.
