Taking cognisance of the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, Akal Takht officiating Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has sought unbiased probe and directed the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to send a team to the spot to monitor the situation.
“It is the responsibility of the Union Government to conduct the probe. The culprits should be given exemplary punishment,” he said.
SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur too condemned the killing of protesting farmers. — TNS
