SGPC to sponsor studies of orphans who lost parents to Covid or farm struggle

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) will provide free education to the children, who have lost their parents to Covid or farm struggle. This announcement was made by SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur during the anniversary of Operation Bluestar.

“The SGPC has decided to provide them education. It will be free of cost. This will help them becoming self-reliant and their future be secured”, she said.

Earlier, the SGPC had provided Rs 1 lakh each to the surviving family members of more than 160 farmers, who had died during the agitation.

She said the relics and evidence related to “84 da ghallughara” would be made public and the white paper on Army attack was being prepared. “On the line of the bullet-ridden saroop of Guru Granth Sahib, the damaged gold sheets of the Golden Temple, hit by bullets and the historic ‘khu’ behind Akal Takht that was related to Guru Hargobind, would also be made open for the public shortly.
