Chandigarh, December 6
Public Works Department and Administrative Reforms Minister Vijay Inder Singla today handed over letters to 20 newly appointed employees in the department. The employees have been inducted into the PWD on various posts on compassionate grounds. In all, two clerks, 17 peons and a chowkidar have been appointed.
Addressing the newly appointed employees, Singla said the loss of the deceased workers could not be compensated, but by giving regular appointment to their family members, the government had fulfilled its promise of providing a respectable means of livelihood to the dependents. — TNS
