Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Wednesday said a special session of the Punjab Assembly would be held on November 8 to discuss vital issues, including the three farm laws.

Addressing a press conference here, Channi said the Centre should withdraw the notification regarding the BSF movement in the state from 15 km to 50 km. He said the Centre could not interfere in Punjab like this.

The CM said, “We are going to provide a good atmosphere to the traders in Punjab; and the Inspector Raj will not be allowed. There will be no harassment from mobile wing of tax as their strength has been reduced from 13 to four. Police interference during Diwali season will not be allowed.”

The CM said Rs 147 crore had been released for the revamping of all Focal Points.

The fixed charges for MSME industry would be decreased to 50 per cent, he said.

An exhibition centre would come up at Amritsar, he said, adding that a film city would be developed near Chandigarh.
