Supreme Court to set up committee headed by former apex court judge to probe PM’s security breach in Punjab

New Delhi, January 10

The Supreme Court will set up a committee headed by former apex court judge to probe the security breach during PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab.

The apex court said the ongoing probe by separate panels of the Centre and Punjab would remain stayed.

The CJI said the DGP Chandigarh, NIA IG and Registrar General of Punjab and Haryana High Court may be part of proposed panel to probe security breach during PM’s visit.

Modi’s convoy had been stranded on a flyover for close to 20 minutes as there was a road blockade by protesters in Ferozepur recently. PTI
