Panic gripped parents and students of Government High School, Badwala, as a schoolteacher (science subject) tested Covid positive. The teacher sent her leave from home along with the positive certificate. The headmaster said he has informed the Health Department, but surprisingly no testing of students and faculty has been done so far.
Jagtar Singh, headmaster of the school, said he came to know after the schoolteacher sent her leave and said he was concerned about safety of students as the teacher was coming to the school regularly. He said the health officials assured to start testing. Meanwhile, parents expressed surprise over the behaviour of the schoolteacher and the Health Department. They said when threat of new variant (Omicron) has increased manifold, the department should have acted immediately.
