Sangrur, December 25
BJP’s Himachal Pradesh incharge and senior leader Avinash Rai Khanna on Saturday said experienced leaders of other parties who come into the party fold stood chance of getting a ticket in the upcoming Assembly elections if they had a good track record and the winnability factor.
“If they meet this criteria and have the approval of our party, they can be our candidate. Our party has always given chance to good candidates who may have come from other parties,” said Khanna at the residence of local BJP leader Satwant Singh Punia here. The farmers had laid siege to Punia’s house for more than a year during the agitation against the farm laws.
Khanna said it was a good sign to see leaders from other parties joining the BJP and showed it was gaining strength in Punjab. “The joining of leaders from other parties indicates people of Punjab support the BJP. We will be victorious,” claimed Khanna. “We never broke the alliance with the SAD. We will welcome parties willing to form an alliance with us for the better future of Punjab,” he added.
