Two Kakinada government teachers suspended after inquiry into sexual assault complaints by students

Kakinada District Education Officer P. Ramesh on Monday (September 7, 2026) suspended two government teachers, Joga Suresh and Reddi Srinivas, for allegedly sexually assaulting girl students, on the findings of a departmental inquiry.

Suresh, a physical science teacher, allegedly sexually assaulted a girl student at a government high school before 2025. “Later, the victim reportedly ended her life. Mr. Suresh has been suspended with effect from September 7 based on the internal inquiry. On the other hand, the police have also registered a case in connection with the victim’s death,” said Mr. Ramesh. The inquiry began on a written complaint lodged by the girl’s parents.

Teacher suspended for misbehaving with girls

Srinivas, a physical education teacher at a government high school for girls, was named in a complaint lodged recently by a student alleging sexual assault. “Mr. Srinivas has been suspended from the service with effect from September 7 based on the findings of the inquiry,” said Mr. Ramesh.
