BJP president JP Nadda on Wednesday announced poll teams for key states Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Manipur and Uttarakhand, which are going to elections in 2022, appointing senior ministers and party leaders as in charge and co-in charge.
While Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been given charge of 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will look after Punjab.

Meanwhile, given the party’s high stakes in UP, Pradhan’s army of deputies includes Union ministers Anurag Singh Thakur, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Shobha Karandlaje and Annapurna Devi, MPs Saroj Pandey and Vivek Thakur, and former Haryana Minister Captain Abhimanyu.
Nadda has also appointed six regional incharge (organisation), including Sanjay Bhatia, Sanjiv Chaurasia, Y Satya Kumar, Sudheer Gupta, Arvind Menon and Sunil Ojha for UP.
In Uttarakhand, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi will be in charge along with two deputies, MP Locket Chaterjee and national spokesperson RP Singh for elections to the 70-member Assembly.
In Manipur, Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav is in charge along with two deputies, Union minister Pratima Bhaoumik and Assam minister Ashok Singhal.
