Warring confronts Kejriwal on bus permits

Amritsar, December 25

Day after Transport Minister Amrinder Singh Raja Warring staged a protest outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence, the AAP convener today assured him of initiating strict action against Indo-Canadian buses flouting norms in the national capital. He even accepted the idea of jointly checking these buses at the Delhi airport.

Warring confronted Kejriwal at a local hotel over denial of entry to State Transport Undertaking (STU) buses in the national capital. He alleged only Indo-Canadian transport service buses had been allowed permission to ferry passengers up to the Indira Gandhi International Airport, adding the private transport service, being run by the Badals, plied 35 luxury buses.

In his reply, the Delhi CM said his government had impounded 115 buses and challaned 230 over the past few months. He assured strict action against those private buses that were flouting the norms. — TNS
