Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday launched the Punjab Police’s public grievances redressal portal in the presence of senior government officials.

“This revolutionary decision is aimed at enabling citizens to lodge complaints online, monitor its progress and get the report while sitting at home just at the click of a single button on their computers,” the CM said.

How to go about it

  • You can visit the website Pgd.punjabpolice.gov.in and create a permanent account by following a few simple steps, including filling in the name and mobile number
  • After this, a password will be generated and a permanent account would be established on the portal
  • Now, the complainant will be able to lodge their complaint using the credentials and track its progress
  • The move is aimed at facilitating citizens to lodge complaints online, monitor its progress and get report while sitting at home, the CM said, while launching the portal

Reiterating the firm commitment of his government to provide citizen-centric governance for people of the state, the CM said this unique software would provide a complete solution to public grievance redressal mechanism. He said this mechanism would help citizens in registering their complaints online and monitoring its progress without making rounds to various offices. Mann said this system would effectively end the practice of multiple and parallel inquiries in the system, thereby helping citizens in getting their work done in a time-bound manner.

The CM, while sharing the details, said the objective of this portal was to deliver transparent and time-bound justice to complainants. He said this system would strengthen accountability in system, where erring officials would be held accountable for their inaction and inordinate delay.
