Telangana Government is making elaborate arrangements for the success of Defence Expo – 2026 to be held as part of the second edition of the investors global summit, Invest Telangana, at Bharat Future City from December 7 to 9.

The government is planning airshow, industrial exhibition and special events pertaining to defence systems in addition to seminars on aerospace, defence and space technologies as part of the expo. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has invited Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to the prestigious event being organised by the State government and inaugurate the Defence Expo. The Defence Minister could guide the defence firms, startups and young scientists who are expected to participate in the event.

The Chief Minister, who is in New Delhi on Wednesday (September 2, 2026), called on the Defence Minister and explained about the State government’s preparedness to host the event on par with international standards. He sought the cooperation of the Defence Ministry in the successful conduct of the expo besides granting permission enabling participation of aerobatic teams comprising Suryakiran, Sarang and other defence aircraft in the airshow. Steps would be taken to display the latest technologies deployed in Army, Navy and Air Force.

He wanted the defence firms like HAL, BEL, BDL and others to participate in the expo and showcase their latest technologies. The Defence Ministry should extend its cooperation in conducting meetings with representatives of eminent global defence firms as well as bilateral meetings pertaining to defence officials as part of the expo.

Lands for DRDL and airport

The Chief Minister informed the Defence Minister that the State government had initiated process for acquisition of 750 acres of land required for the proposed airport at Adilabad. Steps would be initiated to acquire another 750 acres for the airport as the Defence Ministry sought a total of 1,500 acres for the project. The Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation had agreed to allot 416.18 acres land for the project proposed by the Defence Research and Development Labs (DRDL). The State Government had decided to lease the land on a nominal rent of ₹1 a year for 30 years and the lease could be extended for two more terms by the Defence Ministry based on the need.
