Chandigarh, September 8
Amid political tussle over naming the chief ministerial candidate by AAP, Sangrur MP and frontrunner for the post Bhagwant Mann has rushed to Delhi. Sources in the party say Mann is in Delhi to urge AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal to name the candidate. So far, the only signal coming from Kejriwal is that the candidate will be a Sikh.
Over the past few days, Mann, who remains the most popular face of the party in Punjab, has been flexing his political muscle and projecting himself as the best bet for the party. Though the party is on the lookout for a CM face, and has approached many leaders, it has failed to attract a leader having a mass political base into its fold. — TNS
