A 17-year-old girl was found dead at her house in Durga Bhavaninagar under the I.S. Sadan police station limits on Sunday night.

The girl was identified as Gauthami, a first year graduate. According to the police, a suicide note was found at the house in which she claimed that she was upset over her mother scolding her.

The I.S. Sadan police registered a case and took up an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to her death. Police are questioning family members and gathering other details as part of the investigation.
