Sidhu Moosewala murder: ‘Angered’ over his involvement, Ludhiana jail inmates beat up accused Satbir Singh

Ludhiana, July 9

Satbir Singh of Talwandi Rai Dadu village, Ajnala, an accused in Sidhu Moosewala killing case, was thrashed by some inmates at Central jail in Ludhiana on Saturday evening. He suffered injuries on his head and other body parts. One of the inmates reportedly also hit brick at his head.

Jail officials intervened to rescue Satbir Singh and took him to hospital.

Jail superintendent Shivraj Singh said injured Satbir treated at a hospital in jail. Later, he was brought to civil hospital.

Sources said that Satbir was attacked by inmates who were angered over his involvement in the killing of Moosewala.

Satbir was shifted to jail yesterday after several days interrogation in the custody of Ludhiana police.

Ludhiana police have also launched probe to identify if the assailants were members of any rival gang of Lawrence or Jaggu Bhagwanpuria.

Satbir who is horse trader was caught by Ludhiana police for his alleged involvement in supplying weapons to the killers of Moosewala.
